i watched the movie chocolat the other night and i say this movie is delish!
Vianne, a single mom, and her daughter, Anouche are newcomers in a small european village and they open a chocolatier. Now, this is not your ordinary confectionary shop. Vianne can sense the perfect delicacy for each person and send the repressed town into unleashing their hidden passions.
the story unfolds creatively and effectively. It mesmerizes you and makes you hunger for vianne's chocolate creations and to know her.
I love this movie for it's story, it's wonderful actors, and also for the chocolates =)

I've seen this movie several times and will watch it again if I get the chance. You did an excellent job of reviewing it! I think I may look around and see about getting it on video so I can watch it again when I want to.

hello. have you read the book? my god, it's as beautiful and prose-like as the movie itself. i certainly enjoyed reading such magic and chocolate passion as i did watching the film itself. vianne rocher whatever she is, witch or not, is very inspiring. she was so brave to defend her stand against the conservative people of the town, especially the priest. her confections aka temptations lured people into her shop, but of course all for the better, since the chocolates improved their lives. i swear, reading/watching Chocolat should be accompanied by boxes of melt-in-your-mouth truffles!!! i would watch it over and over again. of course, johnny depp is such a good bonus, don't you think? :)

I loved the book more than I did the movie. I saw the movie first and it was so visually amazing that I half expected the book to fail, or at least not live up to the movie's visual presentation. But it was way better that for a long time after, I was telling people to read it because it is simply magical.

At first, I just see part of the movie from a TV program which teaches English, and I found it interesting. Then I try my best to buy the video from the video shops. To my disappointment, I can`t find it anywhere in my hometown. Now I`m in university in another city, and I found the DVD of Chocolat by chance. I was so happy that day! After watch it, I think it`s a really good movie, and Johnny Deep is so cool!

This is my all-time favorite. I love all the character and the overall feel of the movie makes me want to go live in a small quaint weird little place like that town in Europe. Of course, Johhny Depp is especially cool!
