I guess this is more directed to visitors, though I guess it could apply to the London residents too. What is your favorite memory of your stay in London? Not your favorite site, but a moment that sticks out in your mind.
For me, it's a tie between drinking melted chocolate in the crowded Harrod's chocolate bar and ordering fancy cocktails at a cheezy American-themed flair bar (the name of which escapes me).
How about you?

My newborn nephew... I am italian, but my brother-in-law lives and works in London. When my wife's sister had his baby in september 2005 we were there to say welcome to him....

Three things popped up in my mind as I read your post.
My first favorite memory of London was the long line of people waiting to be seated in Garfunkel's restaurant next to London Palladium in Argyll Street. That was after the play was finished and the line extended from the main door entrance to the sides of the street and people were braving the cold waiting for tables to be vacated.
Next are the street peddlers at Carnaby street that sell everything under the sun. And the food exhibition at Earl's Court where all foods, from Chinese, Mongolian, Korean are served. Londoneers love to eat.

we loved london! we loved all the museums as we are museum freaks. =) but my fondest memory of london was eating hotdogs in front of the british museum. the smell of the hotdogs being cooked, plus the onions was lovely!

I saw a mime dressed as Dr Jekyll in Covent Garden and I had my photo taken with him, that's a good memory. I love Covent Garden as I like street theater, and there are some amazing shops and market stalls.
