Jesus was neither white nor black, he born in middle eastern ethnicity, in Jerusalem.
Prophet Mohammad sayings after the night of Ascent(Mi'raj) Reported:
* Jesus, a man of Medium height and moderate complexion inclined to the red and white colors and of lank hair.
* who was of average height with red face as if he had just come out of bathing.
* Jesus was a curly-haired man of moderate height.
* Jesus was of red complexion, curly hair and broad chest.

we all know that Jesus Christ was born to a poor family. thus, He has to work His way since childhood. He never had an easy life on earth. His looks like his sunburnt skin and his redness had all been brought about by His extreme exposure to the sun. this sun exposure has even become so much more when He started going out from place to place preaching about God's Word regardless of the hours of the day under full exposure to the sun and the elements.

I dont know if Jesus was black or not, but you might be right. We know he wasnt of Eurpoean descent, so of course he wouldn't look like it. And all they movies do portray him that way. Interesting. I am glad that you pointed that out to me, I had never even thought about it before.

I don't think it really matters as long as you believe in him...after all there are some people who think God is a woman. I never gave either one any real thought or credence. God is an entity, a deity, a belief. As long as you have a picture of God in your heart, the rest is moot.

Hahaha, I thought this was a cute topic. Well, being as to how he was born in Bethlehem....I don't know of any blacks born in Bethlehem. Do you? Maybe now at days... There are, being as to how modern world travel is available. I have no race issues. Our Lord commanded us to Love one another and to Love our neighbors. I wouldn't want to think that Jesus was hispanic just because I am. I respect that the Bible says he was a Nazarine. Jesus of Nazareth.

I think this is a bit silly - whatever colour Jesus was has nothing to do with associating his background with a particular racial group.
According to the bible Jesus was of Jewish descent so as someone has said he probably had olive skin, assuming that you accept the bible as fact.
As for the people who first wrote the bible, both old and new testamants were also mainly written by Jews, not europeans.

just like you, i would like to think of Jesus Christ as a colored person. but when we would think in terms of the race where He was raised and born to, being a pure blooded Israelite, immediately, each one of us will be convinced that He was white and that He was a man. Jesus Christ was a preacher of God's word and He was never questioned as such, at a time when only men were recognized as the rightful bringer of God's Word and good news. let us instead remember that Jesus Christ was never bothered at all by anyone's color and anyone's race. for Him, it was one's faith that only mattered at all.

Come on Man, what a question? Who cares about the Lord's color? First of all, God has no race and Jesus in the flesh was Jewish!!! Get it, Jewish!!! There is no way around that. Now whether there are races in Heaven, who knows. Probably, since we will recognize each other. But I just wish people would get over the color of someone's skin. People are people. We are all alike no matter what the outside dressing is. Learn to love the skin you're in. I'm so tired of everybody being so sensitive as to their ethnic origin and especially being hyphenated. Now that's just plain silly! If you're born here, you're an American. That's it. If you're born in Europe, you are European. African is African, Asian is Asian, etc., etc., etc,. Stop being so sensitive!

Haqueen, you are writing as a racist. Jesus is a historical person, you canĀ“t make him any more black then making Martin Luther King white. This is nothing against black nor is it do favor white. We cannot change history backwards!
Jesus was born from Jewish ascendence, as all the Bible and historians say. Have peace, brother!

well historically thinking i think it is logical to assume that jesus was dark haired and of an olive or dark complexion being of arab stock..but of course the scholars of the time wouldnt have porteyed Jesus as anything other then european looking...for their own ends..

Jesus was not black or white. Jesus was from the area that is now Israel and Palestine and according to history he was Jewish. All the first diciples were Jewish too until St. Paul came along and encouraged gentiles to join and thus spread Christianity. The chapters in the new testament were written by some of Jesus's diciples who were originally Jewish also, therefore not black not white, but looking like people from the middle East. The protraits that show Jesus as white were painted a long time ago in the middle ages when people had limited knowledge or wished Jesus would have been white. In any case it does not matter what colour he was to those who believe he was the true saviour.

I think this discussion is VERY INTERESTING!!! I don't know why did you get this harsh answers. I don't think black is power, althougt I think many historical and spiritual values from black people were hidden because of this kind of racism and white supremacy. The best example is the actual discovering of America in an expedition by the Mandinga muslim-congo empire, a few years before Colombus expedition, and it was a greater one!
Another good example are old black religions, such as Yoruba, which has a great lirism and depicts the world in a deeper way than Western religions. Have you heard about them? Please help me in my researchs!
And for Christ, he could be probably black and Ethiopian descendant, there is a good theory on that, and perhaps that is why the Black Magician King came give him some gifts.
