Someone took this piture at the very last moment of life!

tsunami - picture of the last moment of life
United States
February 4, 2007 12:13pm CST
There are people who believe in God, there are others who don't believe, but we must understand that we are small when nature hits... This picture was taken on the banks of Sumatra Island (the height of waves was of approx. 32 m = 105 ft). It was found saved in a digital camera, 1 1/2 month after the disaster. We cannot know for sure, but very likely the one who took the picture is not alive any more (it was just a matter of seconds). Today we can see the last image he/ she saw before ending life on Earth!

That is an odd picture and looks like smoke more than water from a tsunami. How did the camera survive the water I wonder? Any way thanks for shareing that. Where did you find it?

I doubt that the camera survived. But the data on the card in the camera could easily have survived the water. An awe inspiring picture.

if you look at the first picture, there is red smear where the date is in yours. people always looking for ways to fool others. its sad when they use something so sad to do it with. not saying sweetlady did this, i am sure its floating all over the email with some saying with it. god don't want people using lies in his name, even if their intentions are good. they shouldn't do that.

I am always amazed, and humbled by the power of Nature. I am not religious at all, but I do believe that Nature has a power, bigger and stromger than all of us. It is a very imperssive picture, thanks for sharing it with us. And I, for one, would like to think, the photographer managed to escape, and is still alive and well somewhere!

Hi Sweetlady, I believe in God and nature as well and I do agree with your opinion that we are too small when nature hits. I must admire the picture but at the same time I am feeling very bad about the Tsunami incident.

Nature is truly amazing and slowly as technology advances we are getting peaks into the strength and patterns of how nature functions. I will have to go see that picture. Where did you get it from? Tsunamis are large tidal waves and do much damage. Have not found out how the land rebounds if it does after such an event. One story I heard is how animals left the area a day or two ahead of time. Amazing.

I also heard that about animal. Animal has a strong power to guess things about nature.

Cat owners know this is true.. Every cat I have ever had acts very strange when the weather starts getting bad for like a thunderstorm, etc.. And its always before theres barely any signs of bad weather.

we really cant do anything if nature will do its course. i believe that there is powerful than any other human being and HE is up there watching every thing that happend to us. his there to guide and protect us all the way. i just hope whoever own that digicam didnt suffer to much. but as what i can see in the pics no one will ever survived.

That's not a picture of Indonesia, and certainly not of anywhere on Sumatra. They don't build westernized houses like that in North Sumatra, and you would be extremely lucky to find a house with an open garden and drive ANYWHERE in Indonesia. Finding one would be shocking, but finding a whole ESTATE would be unreal! haha. It looks like a fixed photo that someone has rigged up and photoshopped. Sorry to be disappointing to you. I have been to Indonesia quite a lot (and my wife is Indonesian and concurs that it looks like an American suburb more than it does an Indonesian housing estate! haha). The roads on their estates are very narrow and you would be lucky if it were two car widths apart (maximum). And the drainage systems are above ground (thus the smell) and are very visible on the front facias of houses. And they fence and gate everything off with walls or high fences when it comes to their houses. Trust me. it's a fake. Don't be alarmed by it.

Must say that I agree with Rittings also. That is definitely not a wave, maybe some kind of dust storm and it is pretty obvious that these houses are not houses you would find in Indonesia.

I agree with Rittings! Bandar Acheh definitely does not look like that! it is a fake picture. Don't be fooled by everything you see. Try to do a little more research. Also, don't copy! You copied this from another user that posted the same discussion 7 days ago.

Its a dreadul ending to the life of that person.. It is indeed an excellent pic.. extraordinary.. What that fellow has done before leaving this world is that, he /she has made us aware about the powers of Nature..a good deed before leaving.. He/she wouldn't have even thought that this pic is going to be viewed by billions of people.. Fearful but beautiful nature..

You obviously didn't read the message just above yours. Is it deliberate blindness or weren't you completely awake when you answered? ;)

I belive the camera was set there , because no one is ever going to risk his/her life to just take a fascinating picture of a tsunami, but anyway it is glorious you can sometimes see how things can overcome some other thing.

Alright, people. We all know now that this picture is that of a sandstorm taken in 2002 in Australia. It's amazing how gullible people can be and simply gobble just anything presented as the truth. I should write a complete rant about that! LOL

I have skipped past this discussion many times.. I finally came in and took a close look at the picture... It makes me cry... It is hard for any of us to imagine what must have been going through there head... Did they know what was going on... What would make you think to take that picture... It is so amazing to me that a picture like that would be found... Its hard to believe terrible events like that happen.. We can only wish they are few and far between..
