I am not too familiar with the person you are talking about, but the character that really impressed me is Neo from Matrix. I am bigtime fan of the Matrix trilogy, I have seen each of the three films for more than 30 times and would still love to see if I get a chance. I also have its transcript.

The previous poster was talking about the movie "Life is Beautiful"! You were in the wrong thread with your Matrix comment :-)
However in answer to the question that was posed, by favorite character is the wife. So calm, loving and dignified. So faithful and willing to suffer for love's sake!
The look on her face when he played that music for her, that resounded right around that prison camp, but intended solely for her ears ..... wonderful!
