Do any of you "juice?"

I'm considering getting a juicer because I've recently learned about all the nasty stuff that is put into juices that you buy at the grocery store. High fructose corn syrup, for one thing. Eww! Plus, I'd love to have fresh orange juice every morning!
I've heard lots of different thoughts. My biggest concern is the price. According to some people, you have to spend so much money on produce because it takes a ton to make enough juice for even one glass. Do any of you have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

I have a juicer, but I will be honest, it is the kind that the juice comes out the back of it, and it is an absolute mess to clean. It wasn't cheap, but since I had never had one, I bought this one and I never, ever, use it. It gets juice all over the counter and he pulp gets stuck in it. What a mess.
Look for a juice that you think will be easy to clean. Maybe from one of those kitchen stores you will find a larger variety of brands to choose from. The one or two glasses of Watermelon juice I made were delicious, but its in the basement somewhere now.

Oh and btw, the cost of the produce is minimal at best. You don't have to make an entire pitcher full, you can make a glass. There are recipes that you can find everywhere for mixed juices etc, and some will come with your juicer. I used Watermelon and carrots. They are cheap even if you need a ton. You can use a mix of things to keep costs down.

my wife had a pretty good juicer when we got married. But being bulky it is not very convient to use. Now we have have a great little product to use. It is called a magice bullet. It is totally assume what you can do with this little product and it is easy to clean. YOu dont just have to juice with this, you can make bean dip, chop cheese, and slushes. You can buy just the basic package with small cups or you can buy a kit that has a blender attachment. I really highly reccommend the magic bullit. You will use it a lot more than anything else you could buy.

Wow, I haven't heard of this product. I can't imagine how it's possible for one product to do all those things! But seeing as I live in a teensy condo, I like multi-purpose objects! Less junk to store on my counter.
Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely check it out!

You can buy juice that is 100% fruit juice without any additives. I would rather buy 100% juice than to buy a juicer. The amount of juice I drink wouldn't pay for the juicer or the cost of the fruit to make it with.

My husband got me into juicing about 14 years years ago. We've had our share of juicers, the good ones (pricey brands) and the bad ones (cheap brands). With the cheap ones you definitely have to use more produce in order to get a decent amount of juice. Which of course costs more in the long run. With the pricier ones like Jack Lalanne, Juiceman (not the Jr.), Juicelady, Breville, you get your money's worth as these juicers work so much better. I currently have a Breville JE95XL and it is the best juicer I have ever had! I would have liked to have gotten their 800JE, but it's a bit more than I'm willing to spend on a juicer. Plus the one that I have suits my family's needs.
I found a site that does a comparison between Jack Lalanne and Breville. Don't forget both of these are good juicers, yet look at the difference for yourself!
