Is anyone else NOT watching the Superbowl today?

I think all the time, energy, and attention devoted to this football game is, in a word, stupid. Superbowl Sunday is just another excuse for men to act like pigs and get away with it. Anybody else agree, or have other reasons why they're not into the Superbowl?

LOL! I agree and I won't be watching the Superbowl today, either. I'm just not into sports, so why subject myself to something I don't enjoy watching?

Some people watch it just because it's the Superbowl and everyone else is watching it. I hear so many girls on my college campus saying, "I hate football, but I'm watching the Superbowl with my boyfriend anyway..." Why do it if you don't want to?

I won't be watching it simply because being from a non-american country I simply don't care! oh and also 'cos it wouldn't be on tv here until a stupid time of day [if it even is on tv *thinks*] i'll have to consolt the TV Guide

Does your country have anything similar to the Superbowl? Some big sports event that the whole nation gets in an uproar about?

I'll miss a lot of it, I'll be at work. I think my husband would take exception to being called a pig. He enjoys sports, that doesn't make him a pig.

I'm not saying all men who watch sports (or even the Superbowl) are pigs. But a lot of them do act that way during the Superbowl, even if they normally wouldn't. A lot of guys will even get into fights over it, and I think that's really dumb. And for this one day, football becomes more important than anything for a lot of guys- sometimes more important than even their wives/girlfriends and children.

Men aren't the only ones watching the game today. I know women who get into football just as much as the guys do, if not more.

Yeah, there are some women who get into it...I don't personally know any, though. But Superbowl Sunday is still pretty much a male-dominated holiday.

Well, It's a game to determine the the NFL championship, so I guess it's important to some people (pigs - ha!)but I'm on my computer right now so I guess it doesnt matter to everyone... I live in Indiana and I should be paying attention to it I suppose, so I'm gonna go up now and watch. I hope I didnt miss half time, lol.

I didn't watch it, and neither did my boyfriend. Instead we went out to lunch and looked at an apartment. I just don't care about football anymore.

oh hell no I will not watch that. What a lame waste of time. I would rather do anything, like pick my nose, etc than watch that. EW! Glad u are not watching it either.
