In-laws give no support

I know everyone has gripes about their inlaws. I am just very frustrated with mine because no matter what my husband and I do they don't support us. My father in law is the worst. He is always giving my husband reasons about how his job isn't good enough, and if my husband calls him about a promising job lead he goes into interrogation mode until he has found a reason to be dissatisfied. He didn't even want us to get married, one of the reasons being that I am "too tall." We have recently become involved in a new home business in addition to our normal jobs to allow us to save more money, and rather than thinking it was a good idea and helping us, my father in law just listed reasons why he was not going to be involved and wouldn't buy anything. It is not that his reasons are unreasonable, but just that he doesn't care to support us even verbally with encouragement. Does anyone else out there have this problem and if so whatb have you done about it?

I would talk seriously to your hubby and tell him how you feel. In laws can be very destructive to a marriage and I have been there. Good luck with your issues, I know it is not easy.

Thanks for the advice, sometimes I think I am about at my wit's end with them.
