do you feel guilty when you call off work?
today i called in because i have been ill since tuesday and not getting any better. ( i know i shouldnt be on here i should be in bed) But i feel guilty. I know that they will be short and take them longer to get things done. And I really am sick..
I could understand if I were calling in to go to a superbowl party(yuck, sports) but im not
do you feel guilty when you call in to work weather it is for a "play day" or because you are really sick?
tell me what you think.. :)

I understand what your feeling, I don't understand why employers make their employees feel guilty to call in sick if they really are. Don't let it bother you, take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon.

Yes, I do feel guilty. I always think they don't really believe I'm sick. So, I try to do it as little as possible.

I used to feel guilty all the time but then what I started doing was actually show up at work while sick and germ infected - this way everyone would SEE that I was really sick and then after about an hour, just say I have to go home because I feel like crap and then not only would I not feel guilty anymore but everyone will believe me the next time I say I'm sick.
Besides, trust me - no one at work wants someone sick to show up and spread germs to make it even worse - dont be so hard on yourself!
Good Luck!

If I'm calling out because I am sick I don't feel guilty, but if I'm calling out because I'm lazy or had plans I do. I try not to call out unless I really have to. My work is great and they never make us feel bad for calling out but my concious will still make me feel bad!
