The rest of that quote is " as Christ loved the church, and gave Himself up for her." I realize many on here do not subscribe to Christianity, so this likely means nothing to you. But for those who are Christians, men especially, what does this statement mean to you? I am finding myself increasingly struggling with what this looks like in daily life? Any suggestions

I am a Christian who just divorced after 28 years. It means do not be selfish, think about your wife's point of view, her needs and God dream for her.

I'm a woman and still single, but i really believe in that quotation. Husbands must love their wives as much as they love their own selves, and part of that love is loyalty, caring, giving, understanding, patience etc....But in return i also believe that woman must honor their husbands.
