book or movie?

I saw the movie first, so I gotta say I like it more.... Brad Pitt's best roles are always when he's playing a crazy person, and Edward Norton is excellent in it, as always. The book's a head trip on its own, though.
I suppose both are good, but still, I think as a movie it's more innovative. The conceit of the story has been done before in books, though not in the same way, but in a movie it was surprising. It also had a pretty extreme message for a film that used such mainstream actors, and diversity in the movie business is always good.
Your thoughts?

Even though the book and the movie have the same idea, and the movie was greatly made after the book, they are somehow different. I can't say that one was better than the other. But I think it is the only movie made after a book that reached it.

To be honest I didn't realize the movie was from a book. Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors. Now I'll have to get hold of the book and see how close his role in the movie was to that in the book.
