Bananas - What is your favorite way to eat one?

Bananas are said to be one of nature's most perfect foods. I have always loved them. There was always bananas in our fruit bowl. They were the first fruit to vanish from the fruit bowl. A couple of my favorite ways to eat bananas was in a sandwich. I would often spread peanut butter on bread and add sliced banana. Using mayonaiise in place of the peanut butter was another sandwich favorite.
You would think that I would love banana bread. Not so, until I found a recipe that used sour cream. The bread was not so heavy and really tasted wonderful. Banana cream pie was also not a favorite. I really can't offer an explanation as to why.

Ooh, banana cream pie! I *love* that flavor of pie! I hadn't thought about it in ages. If I could find a sugarless version, I could so totally go for a banana creme pie right now! *laugh*
I really like plain bananas. I have never actually tried, that I can remember, a banana and peanut butter sandwich. I really should someday. I also love banana bread! I'm getting hungry for it right now, lol!

I'll eat bananas just about anyway I can get them and my son has proven that he is a monkey too LOL. I love banana sandwhiches with mayo and with peanut butter both are very good. I also like to make banana bread and pudding and fruit bowls. I guess I'm just a monkey like my son, give me a banana and I'm happy LOL

We eat them just as is, of course. I also like to dip mine in peanut butter. Hubby uses a hot dog bun, spreads it with peanut butter, and has a banana hot dog. I love banana bread, hate bananas in jello, especially red jello, as it always makes my mouth burn. I will also take overripe bananas and blend with vanilla yogurt, peanut butter and possibly some chocolate syrup for a smoothie for breakfast or snack. Never thought of mayo with one though.

For some reason I cannot stomach the banana smoothies. They upset my tummy.

My favorite way to eat a banana is nice and firm almost green right out of the peel ,then I love a bananna sandwich with an inch of mayonaise on white bread ,nice fresh white bread ....I also love a fruit salad, with bananas and lots of pecans an other fruits...I don't care for banana cream pie or banana pudding either .I don't like it when the bananas get soft and dark ...

I prefer my bananas to be just past the green stage,a bright yellow. If the peel gets discolored I won't eat it. Hubby will eat them when they get spotted.

i do love to eat bananas too. My Mom always make sure that we have bananas for almost every week. It is a go-quick food for me when i'm really hungry and i need food. But i never thought that bananas can be eaten within a sandwich. hmm, maybe i'll try that one. But i sure definitely have tried eating it with a peanut butter. has anyone tried eating it along with rice? some of my relatives does that in the province. But i dont think i wanna try that one, maybe after eating a rice meal, but not with it..

well, I have to tell you........... I don't eat bananas. I hate them. When I was little, I ate a banana for breakfast, then got the flu and was throwing up everywhere. Ever since then, I can't eat bananas. For a long time the smell would make me physically ill, but since I had kids and fed them bananas, I can actually smell and touch them. Still cannot eat them, I occasionaly get one in a fruit salad or somehting, and it isn't pretty. Trying to get it out of my mouth with grace and dignity........

Isn't it odd how when you are sick when you eat something you had enjoyed becomes something that you cringe over. I can no longer eat boiled carrots or if they are cooked with meat. I remember cooking them by the pound and never having enough. After I ate them and got sick I have never been able to eat them with great pleasure.

I love bananas and prefer just peeling the banana and eating it the regular way. That is my favorite way of eating it. I also like it in fruit saladas and in ice cream and in cereals. Banana milkshakes are very good too. Banana split ice cream is great.

I like eating bananas just as they are, and I love them on cereal and in banana bread and pudding. I have never had a banana sandwich or eaten them with peanut butter, but I know many people who rave about this. It just doesn't sound appetizing to me.

I love bananas, but not overly ripe. I only like them when they first ripen. I usually enjoy them just as they are. I like them in cereal, espesially in special k with red berries...yumm. I really like banana splits too..lol
I don't much care for banana bread but sometimes I do enjoy banana cream pie, depending on how it's made.

Oh, bananas! I like them, anytime, anywhere, anyway you can eat them.
In the winter I would eat warm banana pudding...the old fashion made from scratch
kind. Banana bread is also a favorite of mine. I put a little lemon in mine to give it a better taste and would eat it warm for breakfast.
Banana cake, banana cream pie, peanut butter and banana sandwiches, bananas in cereal, bananas in jello.
This is a proven fact:For a good nights sleep eat a banana with a glass of milk, it's almost as good as a sleeping pill.
Isn't it surprising that something that taste so good, can also be good for you?

Grilled banana and almond butter sandwiches! I just spread some almond butter on whole grain bread, add sliced bananas, and grill in my little George Foreman grill. Warm, gooey, and delish! (This would probably also be good with peanut butter, but I don't like peanut butter.)

Actually, I can't eat bananas because I am allergic to latex.
thank goodness, my allergy is not too hyper-sensitive that I can still eat other foods that are also known to cause the same reaction.
But I thought I would mention it because most people that are allergic to latex, do not realize that they may also be allergic to bananas or other fruits.

who knew that a discussion on how you eat a Banana's would generate pages of comments. I love it!!! no wonder your so successful here. Your my HERO!.
But in answer to this one.... I have to eat them almost green, the minute I can smell them or see a dark spot on them I trash them.
Weirdo that I am - I love em Green in cereal or on toast with peanut butter.

I am in awe at how such a simple topic can generate so many responses.
I can't eat them that green, but do like them to be a bright yellow without spots.

I can't really eat bananas because they upset my stomach for some reason. I know they are a good source of potassium and should eat them. DH devours them. I love banana bread and oh, the peanut butter and banana sandwiches are great! I add a little brown sugar to them. Mmmmmm! But I guess my favourite would have to be in a banana split! I don't eat any of the above very often though.

I eat bananas with condensed milk! Milk that is so concentrated and has a lot of sugar. I know bananas are already sweet but I like it sweeter! I slice them and pour the condensed milk, cold! I love it! Fave dessert! Try it!

Oh wow! You just reminded me the way my mother served them to me as a kid... cut up in a bowl, pour milk over top and sprinkle with sugar. I had completely forgotten about that. She used to slice them into chocolate pudding too. Yum!

frozen is definitely the best!
i like to cut them up in 1 in slices and put a few in a large container and freeze them. they make perfect bite-sized treats. also you can put the frozen ones in a smoothey with some apple juice and pineapple juice and whatever other misc fruits you like. makes a really health breakfast.
