My sister and I just got our nails done for the first time two days ago. She got acrylic because her nails are really short. But then, the question that we never asked the salon was..how do you remove them? Do you use special substance to remove them? MyLoters, please advice. Thank you.

You will need to soak your nails in an acetone based nail polish remover. The nails will get sticky after a while and will start to peel off. This will take quite some time, but is the only way to get them off without harming your natural nails. Also if you put marbles in the bottom of the bowl of acetone, it makes them soak off faster--not sure why, but I have tried and it does work more efficiently.

Well, the thing is that she would like to be able to put them on and off every-so-often, if possible, you know what I mean.. Maybe we'd go back to the salon to see how they do it.. =) Thanks for responding, though..

I am really sorry that i have to inform you that this question is really stupid. If you want to make questions like this you could better go to Yahoo answers.

Isn't the person who takes the time to read and answer the stupid question more stupid? ;)

If you NEED to remove them, use normal, acetone based nail polish remover. You will probably need to use more than usual and it will take a bit longer than removing nail polish, but they will definitely come off. They do fall off eventually on their own if you let them.
