Cats sucking on human ears -- Does your cat do this?

My male cat, Silvio, is 7 months old (is that still a kitten btw?) and ever since we got him he's tried to suck on our earlobes. Its like he's nursing or something, like he's trying to get milk out. Its usually when he's tired & has been laying down. He'll just walk over & go right for our ears and, if you let him, will suck for 10mins sometimes before he falls asleep. Sometimes its nice because he's calm and you can just cuddle and pet him, but in the mornings when you're trying to sleep it can get annoying. We stopped letting him do it all together for a while, but he would still try every day, so it seems like its just something he has to do rather than a habit. Now we've just accepted the fact, but only let him do it like once a day, usually at night when we're relaxing. When we don't want him to we usually just push him away & he gives up after a while. Have any of you experienced this?? What does it mean?
