I have 3 of the most amazing cats and they are sooooooo clean. Not to really advertise, but I cannot help but love what I bought for them. The electric litterbox. There is no smell, hardly anything to clean up and the easiest thing to have. It is so worth the money. How many of you still have the old kind? How many have the electric kind? What do you think, stick with the old or go with the new? May be costly, but worth every dime.

when you say electric, do you mean those self cleaning boxes? Its not sold here where i live...but I thought of getting one before. Now I use the biggest sized litter box I can find as my 4 cats use the same box. No point putting more than one as they always seem to share

Yes, they self clean for the most part. You have a recepticle you empty when it's full and there is an odor control that you attach. It's amazing compared to litter boxes that everyone is used to. There really is no odor at all. On mine there is an ionic breeze also. You should get it!

They sound great and I've seen them in the stores. I've always wanted one but they cost lots and I'm not sure if my cat would like it. He's 11 and set in his ways and may get freaked out by it.

May sound strange, but I know our cats are happy with it. Their box is always clean! Don't know about 11 year old cat, but good luck!

I always wondered about those types of electric litter boxes and if they really made a difference. I still have the old kind with the hood on it and I have been thinking about getting the kind you're describing. It's good to know that you like it. I've been hesitant on buying one because I never talked with anyone who ever had one. Thanks for the info, I'll definitely have to check them out!

I bought 2 of them at different prices. Mine I got on sale for $90.00 and the one I bought for my sister was $100.00. Same litter box though for the both of us. The box has a sensor on it, not to worry your cat will NOT get hurt. Hope everyone that responded gets one.

Wow! what is an electric litter box? I have never heard of it. I have a regular litter box with a hood on it. It helps with the smell alot but still room for imporvement. Tell me more

Bigger base, more room for cats to do their thing. no cover! Ionic breeze. You also add carbon filter. Put together, plug it in and fork like motor starts at one end of the box and pushes clumps to other end and it goes into a tray that stays covered. Poorly explained, go to www.littermaid.com. Hope it shows a picture for you. Wal mart has them to, worth checking out. And no question on improvement compared to box you have right now. I will never get one of those again. Good luck and happy shopping.

I still have the old ones, but I've been eyeing the electric ones for some time now. I just can't bring myself to spend the money for one. After your glowing review though, you tempt me even further. Maybe I can get one when I get a 10% off coupon for having my petco pals card next time....we'll have to wait and see.

I don't know how much they are at Petco, but I got mine at Wal Mart. Totally worth the investment!
