Are blogs a "cash cow?"

I have heard from many people that they use blogs to get money. What I want to know is simple. What blog host do you use? Is this profitable thing pay through paypal? What do you use to make money on blogs because all I have seen is people posting about things.
When I say are blogs a cash cow, I mean is it a good way of making some passive income? It seems interesting because I love to post and talk about things on forums and blogs. I hope you can help me.

not at all no one can think tp earn from blog untill he has the manual traffic of more then 1000 visitors daily

What do you guys believe is the best blog site out there? I am intrested in this but the more traffic the site gets would benift me most obviously so i'm wondering for good sites. If you cant post links you can message me them right?
