Yes, anything used excessively except for water is harmful to the health. Salt holds the water in our body and this is one of the contents of evnergy drinks (sodium). However, too much can cause kidney problems.

Salt intake can be very bad for you. It can cause high blood presure. I personally can't eat a lot even if it wasn't bad for you. If I eat to much I breat out in hives. but here are a couple of web sites of salt.

recently australian researchers have found that high salt intake my increase risk of cataracts, diabetes or high blood pressure, and other risks involve stroke, coronary artery disease, kidney disease and mind you just increase your potassium intake (so eat more of vegetable and fruits, dairy products, meats, poultry products, fish, legumes) and reduce your sodium intake that will be beneficial for your health

Yup! Too much salt can cause kidney problems. =) Too much of it in your bloodstream will lead to severe headaches and light-headedness. =) Generally, too much of anything isn't good at all. =)
