News papers are becoming irresponsible now a days... all one can see on them at the first glance is about celebrities going out together or celebrities having dinner , or some add for a new movie or politics... why dont they concentrate on what is more important??? the other day , there was this news as the headlines, two celebs from india, went to a temple together, and then it went on describing what clothes they wore... and so on... i hate it when i see these...

I share the same sentiments with you. Here in the philippines, news channels are vying for the highest ratings and one easiest way of reaching the top would be to increase celebrity news. But I also see the flaws among the audience, the consumer of the news, since most of them do prefer to watch their favorite celebrities on tv. What is being shown on tv reflects the preference of the audience and vice versa. News on TV only reinforces what the public deemed to be relevant and interesting. I think the biggest challenge falls on both sides. The media must be able to rectify their concept regarding newsworthiness. the public,too, take a shift from celebrity gossips. It's wuite true that the audience give those news channels an idea of what should be shown on air.
