Has anyone tried the mentos and coke trick

Ive seen many mails where they say that if you put a mentos in a bottle of coke, it errupts, but has anyone ever tried it. we tried it with pepsi, but we had already finished 3/4ths of the bottle so maybe it was too little, but nothing happened with the pepsi. even when we shook the bottle nothing happened.
so was just wondering is it really true?

There was a kid's science program personality who did a show in oldtown Sacramento, California on New Year's Eve who did a demonstration. I remember him saying Diet Dr Pepper is extra fizzy, so the results are more spectacular.
But it does take a full bottle, I think he used two liter sizes.

good i was looking for someone who had axtually seen it because videos arent always reliable, and you may be right, i used a small almost empty bottle

It does work, I've seen videos of it done on youtube, you could search there to see them. I'm not sure if it works with Pepsi, but it's for sure with coke, and I'm not sure about diet coke but you could try. if it doesn't erupt in pepsi or bubble even a little bit then it probably won't work in pepsi at all, you need COKE coke xD

I think that experiment won something I think in youtube(not sure) or in other free vidoe uploas site.I saw the video on CNN and it was so cool coz it was like this show like the light/fountain show in Las Vegas.Maybe ill try it sometime.
