Education

I think that present Education System in India should be changed. This should be benificial to all of us. The highest end of education is to discipline rather than to furnish the mind; to train students to use their minds; rather than I fill them with the accumulation of facts from books. The aim of education should be to teach us how to think for ourselves; to train our minds to dig facts for ourselves than to load the memory with the thoughts of other men~. The defect in the present system of education is that it teaches us to stuff our minds with all sorts of relevant and irrelevant material which is actually a negation of the very purpose of education. Another serious weakness in our present system of education is that it is not practical. It is mainly theoretical. We keep spinning theories. We are trained more for abstract and philosophical thinking. Pragmatic knowledge for practical life is not given. We are not taught the application in practice of what we study.
