well seeing how many people have been weighing in with their opinion of the greatest indian cricketer ever,heres my two cents.as much as i like sachin for his tremendous achievements and contributions,i believe he will always come in behind players like lara and ponting when the best contemporary batsman is chosen.the simple fact of the matter that the man does not perform under pressure is there for all to see. i still remember the last world cup finals when he came out and looked clearly out of sorts before mcgrath ended his misery yet again. and i cant for the life of me remember the last time he played a major role in semis or crunch situations with the bat.
