do you think orkut should be paying its members from the revenue generated??

It will be great! But i don't think so! They don't have to pay, coz they didn't start orkut with an intension to let people make money. It is a community site for people to find and make friends etc. They have a completely different business model. Every site can not adopt mylot model.

orkut provides us a service where we can be in touch with our old friends and family memebers in an extremely fun way. i dont think they should PAY for PROVIDING us with this service... if they r making sme bucks, thts for their good job :)

See I never went to orkut in order to earn and I use to spend a lot of time there.However, if they start giving money to the users it is no big deal for them because there earnings are also huge, but I think that would depreciate the kind of quality users that visit orkut.com As far as I know orkut was developed by this guy to find somebody lost in this whole wide world and he was successful in his attempt, so let's keep it for that only. For earnings there are plenty of other sites, mylot is just one of them.

Yes if orkut does start paying people to scrap then its popularity and usage would increase many fold. But there are so many people it would be challenge for them to come out with a paying system. i personally dont think that orkut woul start something like this as its ia raking in a lot of money without havin to shareit with the users. But I sure do wish they would :-)

hello friend..you are thinking one point but you should also think it gave us an wonderful paltform where we can meet expand out social life..frnds...and many more..infact its no surprise if it starts collectiong money from the users also!!!

i too totally agree with many of u, they can pay and if they pay there wont be a genuine relationship. every body will start scarping.instead there are few like orkut which give some gifts like i pod to people with popularity higher than 100 or so.if atall they can share their profit is only by this method.

you are absolutely right.. I don know why these sites are only interested in there own earning... i'm sometimes amazed by just hearing to the amount they earn everyday and they can't pass it on a lil is just a shame...

Is the issue that they pay very little or that they don't pay at all? I'd luv to sign up with em if they'll make as much sense as mylot.

I think they should not pay the members instead they should invest some money in the website development and maybe they can change the look of orkut by making it more appealing...as of right now orkut is very simple and basic...wht do u guyz think?

no i don think so....it is an entertaining site and people r enjoying frm its use so why should the people pay us....they have already given us much.

Well the idea is good.... and why not... I mean people have joined Orkut like anything... Moreover they are earning really handsome out of it.... then if they are really business minded they should think it the other way.... even if u pay a small amount daily to ur users you lose nothing beacuse today if you have one million people with u, after paying them you would for sure be havinf ten million people... so I guess it wouldnt be high enough if u talk from a business mind

it would be nice if orkut did that.if they are making a huge profit parting with a small amount will make the users really happy.maybe they should give a bonus or something like that.as you said they are well established now and they dont need to further establish it.orkut will keep growing whether they pay or not.they have created a name for themselves and even if they pay the users their network will keep growing.but lets hope they do something awesome and pay all of a sudden.that would be wonderful.woldnt we all love it?:-)

yes.....orkut should start distributing some part of its revenues to user...but now i think it would be do difficult to start the program... already they have huge number of members under it..and if they start paying each and every member to post a scrap(which is actually a junk... u just say hi and how are u to ur frnds and u earn money) then i think it is ridiculous. i think we r being paid here because we are working hard..and we are expressing ourselves here...and so i do not think orkut requires to pay any money to us. we as orkut members are already benefited from its features such as communities...we are connected to all our friends around the globe...its easy to use.....so i do not think orkut should be paying for the scraps which we post....even if we make a community ourselves...its not much a big deal..communities are made so easily... neither orkut now wants huge referrals coz they already have many members and so why should they pay... just for that useless and personal scraps...?

I dont think so bcoz only people interested in it are joining in it and most of them just come for friends not for anything else like joining in discussions etc..... but to say frankly it should pay like mylot.com.as nobody is interested in money for joining that site there is no need to pay and paying to huge no of people is really a difficult task
