Why does everyone assume that makeup on men is automatically homosexual, or that makeup was "made for females only?"
I think it's interesting that makeup was originally worn predominantly by men for thousands of years, not women. Makeup has only been worn (predominantely) by women for much less than that (a couple hundred years or so or maybe a little more in some cultures, or even less in the US), yet people think it's so weird for men to wear it.
If you want to get REALLY technical, makeup was originally made for, and by, men.
I'm not posting this to state that I want all guys to wear makeup, but I wanted to address the common idea on here that makeup for men is homosexual, wrong, sinful and unnatural. I mean, what makes it so much more natural or less sinful on women?
Makeup isn't an inherently feminine concept, but instead it's socially constructed to be that way.
What are your thoughts on the topic?
