why have INDIANS lagged behind the AMERICANS AND EUROPEANS?

this is a question that every indian should think and respond.
we have nothing less than the western world yet we lag behind them.we have had great thinkers in our country even before the europeans learnt to read and write.what went wrong ?why our we a part of the THIRD WORLD when we have all that,what is needed for a developed country???

its all because they looted our wealth in the past and we are learning everything from the begining...but anyhow past is past and am happy that we are progressing very fast..faster than the americans and the europeans

well friend u know this started from the ninteenth century. that time we were equally developing like the europeans but later on india lagged behind becoz of our ancient thinking and our religious beliefs.
When there was invention of books and technology we were talking abt kings and all the caste systems and all those bloody politics. There we lagged and then we were ruled by so many eprerors. First the mugals athen the english, dutch, portoguese etc etc.
Now when v r free we r ruled by the corrupt politicians .
So v r digging our own hole.
