palying the game of cricket

hey friends.i was just wondering as to what do you guys enjoy the most while playing cricket? i myself like to bowl much more than i enjoy batting and i absolutely hate fielding! most of my friends like batting and a few like to field for they can show off with acrobatic dives and stuff. but why is it that it is ingrained in our collective psyche that we are so inclined towards grabbing the bat at whatever chance we get? is it the thrill of hitting monstrous hits,the exhilaration of being a hero,getting all the whistles for aweinspiring shots? being a bowler is not much glamorous and understandably so but why the burninf desire to bat?
