Are horses your favorite animal?

Horses are just not my thing. I don't know why, but I like small animals much better. Something I can hold and love on.

I love horses too, and also played with toy horses instead of dolls when I was a little girl. I grew up in England and I saved all my allowance from when I started getting it, until I was a teenager and finally got my own horse! Most horses are very gentle and intelligent. I think it is odd that when you keep small ponies and large horses together, the smallest tend to bully the big ones. Someone told me it is because the big horses look at the small ones and think that is what they look like and vice versa. That means the small ones think they are big and think they are the boss. What do you think? Do you think that could be correct?

In general I love all the animals. Horses are my favorite animals next to Dogs. I am a Vet by profession and I work for a Stud Farm, where we breed Throughbreds for the purpose of Racing. I stay at the Farm togrther with almost with 300 horses. They are of various ages. We do have smallest foal from day old one to Oldest horse og about 24 years old! Since I regularly interact with this animal, and I have been doing it for years together now, I don't feel horses as any different animal , as a common man feels. I treat them like my friend. I talk with them, as fondle with them and in return I get their response too! I can easily communicate with horses and many stubborn horses they listen to me as if I am their friend! People often express their surprice, how I can remember all the horses names! When I tell that it is not only the name of horse what i remember but I can make out horse from a distance which one is which and I can reconise a horse just by looking at its face! This needs lot of involvement and participation. I love horses and I find them very intelligent, emotional, smart, clever and some times naughty and notorious too! The horse which won the biggest Race of the Country The Derby, when he was on our farm, he was most naughty and notorious one on the farm, I hardly have seen him walking normally on his ll four legs. He used to be always charged with energy and he use to rear up and walk with his hind legs at maximum times when ever he was to come for sale display! There are many things I can mentiuon about the horses, which will never end! In a nut shell I can say hat horse is a Royal, Magestic, Grand, great and dignified animal with a graceof its on together with all the quialities mentioned above, which makes him a popular animal amongst the aniumal lovers!

Horses are totally my favorite animal. Then dogs are my second favorite. After that I like nearly all animals close to the same. But horses are so far out in the front of the list as being my favorite. Growing up I played with horse toys all the time. I had dolls too but they always had to have horses to ride! I had the doll house and the farm sets with lots of little extra plastic horses so that I made horse farms with other farm animals but mostly they were horse farms. I did that for hours and hours. I really enjoyed that. In fact now that I am an adult, I started collecting those plastic horses again, the little ones and the big ones. It helps me to keep horses in my mind and life since I cannot have a live horse anymore. They are very expensive to have and plus I have health issues that don't permit a horse in my life. That makes me pretty sad but I try to watch horse shows on television and I read horse books along with having my horse figure collection. In fact, I have so many plastic horses that I have to go through them and get rid of some, but only the duplicates and really ugly ones!

I love most all animals but horses have always been my favorites. They are beautiful, classy animals and so much fun to work with. I used to own a Morgan/Appy mix and he was such a sweet horse. It was great to be able to take him out on trails or ride in the ring. He was also a joy to take care of and I also helped with the grooming of other horses at the stable at times. Horses can be difficult at times, especially since they are such large animals. But most people who don't like them don't understand how they think and what sensative animals they can be.

Yep certainly love horses, I used to own a pedigree Cleveland Bay when I was in ky teens, through to my mid 20's He was a perfect friend to be out with too.. That horse was certainly very intelligent! Would love another, but now my health isnt what it used to be, so now I just make do with looking at others and going to local shows and watching them there. Lynn-Marie

I love horses very much but they are not my favorite animal. Dogs are my favorite animals and always have been but horses are very close behind. I think horses are very beautiful and loving animals and enjoy horseback riding and petting the horses. I do not like horse racing however because it makes me sad when the horse falls and gets hurt so bad they have to put it to sleep. I do not feel that horses should be used for racing and to make money.

Well, I like horses. But I wouldn't consider them my favorite animals, perhaps because I've never spent much time around them. I suppose I'd consider my favorite animals cats and dogs, the ones that I have as pets and keep me company all the time.

I do like horses, but I wouldn't say they were my favorite animals. I think they are so large that they are intimidating. One time I was doing some work at a house where the people had a horse fenced in. When we had the gate open, the horse wanted to go out. I started to shoo it back in and then noticed how very much larger it was than me, and could just walk over me if it really wanted to. We were in contact by this time. Then I got hold of myself and said, "No, I am the human and I am in charge here!" I think it respected my tone.Was that speciesist of me?

they are my first favorite domestic animal. i LOVE them. ever since i was like three years old, i have wanted a horse. every christmas it would be on my list, every year for my birth day i requested one. still i found myself without one. and i live on a farm for petie's sake! :(( but since i am moving out west for my college years, i plan to work out on a ranch somewhere for my job, so at least i can be around them :). tricky...lol. but as soon as i am married and settled i will finally finnally get me a horse!!! lol i actually have them named, depending on breed or looks or attitude. im also toying with the idea of breeding horses. or starting my own stables/riding camp/horse trails. it depends on money of course, but dangit i want a horse!

No Im not fond of them when I was a little girl a horse threw my off and tryed to step on me. Every since I have not liked them. I believe they are intelligent but so are other animals. Any yes they can be stubborn and dumb. So I prefer my sweet cats instead. They are so much more affection it. You can keep your horses.

I like horses, especially the ones with four legs. I wouldn't say they are my favorite because I don't really have any favorite animals. I love horses too, I rarely get a chance to ride nowadays but it's really great thing to do whenever I can..I loved horses as a kid and I still wish that I can own a horse one day..horses are never dumb, they are very smart and they attach to humans, also each has his own personality, stubborn horses are a very minority :)

I also love horses I have three now and wanting one more I didn't know how smart a horse was untilt I got mine they are smarter than people think I have one if I rub his neck and ask him if it feels good he will shake his head yes and no that he doesn't want to take a bath so they are very smart we love our horse I too wanted them went I was little but never did get one I am almost 40 now and have had my first one almost a year I wouldn't trade them for anything..

Horses are my favorite animal. They make me feel better and they are soothing. When I am upset, I know if I go and ride a horse then I will feel loads better. People who criticize horses usually don't have any experiance with them. (which is unfortunate) I love horses, and they are rewarding animals to work with.
