what should i do if i see someone trying to suicide?

i recently read in the papers about many people trying to suicide.i wonder what would i do to stop a person suiciding. Probably go and discuss with him and tell him its bad but what should i do?

I think the best thing you can do is talk to them and be with them and talk them out of it. Then get others to talk to them.
