No, absolutely not. The are only two reasons for pants down spanking that I can think of, to cause more stinging pain to the child or to lesson the pain for an adult. Besides that, what does hitting a child prove to the child? I am bigger than you so if you mess up, I can hit you and make you hurt. What will that child do as an adult, go around hurting people smaller than themselves? There are many ways to discipline a child without causing physical or emotional pain. If you teach the child and continue teaching the child from day one, and do not take your frustrations out on the child, things would be much better. Many people expect the children to be perfect. They are kids, they have to learn everything, and they are going to make mistakes. What would you do if you made a mistake at work, and your boss put you over his knee, pulled your pants down and spanked you? You would have him arrested and you would sue him. A child does not have that option. A good boss would explain what the mistake was, and let you know how to prevent it from happening in the future. You have to be a boss to your children, and teach them the things they need to know. Do not punish your children for not knowing.
