What is your personal philosophy on martial arts or just in general?

To me, I believe that everyone should have their own personal mantra or code they follow. It keeps us as sinful human beings grounded and gives us roots. What do you all think, or do you have your own opinion

It should actually be the tenets of what you are practicing. by devising your own philosophy, it like also creating a different kind of discipline.
for example, if your practising taekwondo, you should live by taekwondo philosophy not by any other martial arts.. if you do, you cannot call yourself a master or a genuine practitioner of that martial art because you didn't embody it full philosophies

I can't help but disagree with you, are you to say that Bruce Lee was not a true practitioner of martial arts because he followed his own code that he believed was right? Isn't one of the main tenets of any martial arts is to be a truthful and honest person? By following one's own code you are being true to yourself, and as far as martial arts goes, that means perfecting the techniques and movements that suit you the best, not all of them just because you "should" luckily my Sifu follows that kind of "no way as a way" philosophy and he encourages us to tweak and adjust certain techniques he teaches us so that they work best for us, he is simply laying down a foundation for us on which to learn.
