"There are 300 Million people living in the US. If each one shifts $20 a month in spending from foreign made products to American made products, that would create 5 million new jobs" (madeinusa.com) What do you think about this? I'm thinking about purchasing USA made products to support not only my country but my people. If I could help create jobs for those who need it in my country I think it's part of my duty as a citizen of the USA. Can I have your opinion on this?

You bring up some good points! Yes, I think it's important to purchase American made products. So much of the time anymore, when you buy a product that says 'Made in America' we find that the company has outsourced the job of making the item to other countries in an effort to save money. Lots of Americans have lost jobs due to this. As more and more companies are doing this, their financial statement might look better, but it is the average American that is truly losing out. They're losing out on a job, sure, but it's also affecting our economy. Money that should circulate right here in America is being siphoned to other countries economies and it is the US that will ultimately suffer more because of it. I always try to buy American, but it's often difficult to find products that fit that bill.

Many American companies do outsource. It's a pain in the a$$ if you ask me. For instance, talking with Dell's customer service is painstaking. Pay a visit to www.madeinusa.com. They list companies that fabricate in the USA.

Good point. First we have to start up more factories here in the USA. So many products that once were made in the USA are now made elsewhere. That is the down side of globalization. There is always good and bad. We outdid outselves by thinking we did not have to make anything here in the USA. Cheaper is not always better for us. That is the lesson we Americans have to learn.

More and more factories are popping up in America. Toyota and Nissan both have factories in the US. These are international design cars made in the us...it still classifies as a US Made Product...we just have to support American factories if we want more and more to keep coming. Thanks for your input.
