Hi, for a moment let us forget personal preferences and apply our brain. Sehwag purely relies on hand eye coordination and ball nicely coming on to the bat. The present world cup is in WI, where the pitches are slow and the ball doesn't come on to the bat nicely. So Sehwag will have only limited efficacy there. Also, he doesn't have the patience needed to bat in slow pitches. Selecting him so close to the world cup is a blunder, especially when uthappa is performing creditably.
In contrast, Munaf patel has performed creditably so far in his given chances. Today also, he bowled better than the best indian bowler of recent times, zaheer khan. Being tall and capable of generating speeds of 130 to 145 km/hour, he will be extremely effective in WI pitches. Also, he doesn't get carried away like sreesanth and does't make too many mistakes in his line and length. He is a right choice. Thanks.

i have found u have good reasons for to support the discussion,, i too think sehwag is now not a good choice for indian team right now he should be also treated as ganguly was, infact munaf is really doing well and in slow pitches in west indies it can bring variations and change the losing game into winning..!
sehwag should be sent to play more domestic matches rather than international odi'ssss

Sehwag being dropped from the team is only a temporary measure. It is good that the selectors took this decision as it would send the right signals to the entire team. No place comes for free or for history. If you don't perform for a long time, you will be dropped.
Getting Sehwag is expected as we cannot find any suitable prospect.
I do not agree with the inclusion of Munaf. Should have given somebody like Ranadeb Bose a chance.

Its Fine that Munaf is in the team. He bowls well and he was in good form also.the only thing was that he was not fit..No he has chance to prove his fitness.....
Sehwag is great one day player the only thing he has to do is to be consistent...IF india wins the world cup his his contribution will play a major role....

Shewag is a good hitter so we give one chance before worl cup is correct only.We should give chance then only Shewag and munnaaf patel will come to good form, but if they lose this chance they sure get bad effects after comming series

the decisions taken by the indian management is worse than any other comitttee in the world....they hav excluded sehwag who was expected to be the indian opener in the world cup with just a month's time and they hav included him after a four match gap.. this is something ridiculous and they hav to stop doing such things.. this will reduce the confidence of the players and they are bound to fail in the main event..

yes they both are so talented player, that their return to team was almost sure, patel is a better bowler in one daers than sreesanth, so he will be a important perspective
in the coming world cup
sehwag is a hard hitter and a gud allrouder, who should bat at 6th or 7th position in my opinion!!

To my opinion Munaf patel presence in the team genuinely considered because after injury he came to the field and prooved that he is a good bowler but inclusion of sehwag i feel its not correct because he has been struggling to score for the past one year.

I find this is a more than welcome decision to give them a chance once more before the world cup because players like Sehwag and Munaaf can change the lot of any cricket match under the sky all by themselves.

in order to get the right combination before the world cup ,indian selectors have to give chance top every player in order to get the best team for the world cup that can win its matches and hopefully help the country win the world cup and also in da seris before this seris ,india used the rotation policy and these two players didnt got any chance in that chance
