I believe there is a higher power. I also believe in science and evolution. But I believe there is something beyond this life. I can't define it, but I do believe in it. I do NOT believe in organized religion. I do not believe the MEN, PEOPLE can say they have the answers to faith and to god, so I don't believe in organized religion. I think religion is just another form of politics.

I do believe in god. Very much. i have had many experiences where my prayers have been answered or felt the involvement of a higher power. You dont need to leave everything behind for preaching for god. What about ur duties towards your family, Providing them with a good life? God never asked us to leave everything and preach or run away from our other duties towards or family and friends. Leaving everything and preaching is not the only way to show your faith in god. You must have heard the saying GOD helps those those who helps themselves. So its not wise to leave everything andpreach thinking god will take care of everything including your duties as a family man and humanbeing.

i believe in god. a god who created and initiated everything. but i don't believe that he intervenes with the events in our lives. our dream is our destiny. we are on our own. there are no good or bad plans ahead of us. we get what we deserve.

Well have you heard something like "Rational Faith in God"?
Mind you ,I am not talking about "belief" I am talking about "Faith"
First we shall have to be clear as to what we mean by the word "God"?
Do we mean it to be creatoe, the almighty of the UNIVERSE?
or what ?"
If we believe in "some one" that he or she would help us all the time,do we leave doing every thing and simply be a burden on him?
We believe in our parents who have given birth to us ,but we make our selves worthy of their belief by standing on our own feet and we do not go on the roads and 'preach "about this "belief" and say that every thing would be provided by them?
So given this similarity and going by this argument of having "belief "in god and extending the rationale further it is inferred that a person having "belief" in god shall be making himself worthy of this belief in the eyes of god and shall not resort to preaching and teaching which would in my opinion a negation of the very belief that spurred him to take to roads !!
And pray what would happen if this belief turns out to be WRONG and incorrect and the God may not be the God as one thinks him to be provider of all needs It may be some thing else a incorrect perception and projection of ones idea ?
To be on safer side one should indulge in real work of helping people and teaching or preaching on the ROADS?
And I think GOD does not need all this ,and mark the difference between "faith" and belief!!
all the best mylotting
thanks for bringing in a very good topic

i have done the leaving everything behind bit..but then i am good at letting go..now i think in my old age i am doing alot more bargaining with the Almighty..i want a little comfort lol cos i have been through hell and i am tired..so i think it is relative to time and situation..but i am a rebel..i always say i am pretty useless at following instructions but i love God..even though i fall short of His requirements..
i try everyday to do my best and be grateful..

I like to believe my faith is that strong. My brother-in-law did that at one time. Took his wife and 4 sons and started a new church with no money, no nothing, and God really blessed his ministry.
It is easy for me to say I would do something similar if I was really sure it was God telling me to do it, but in my heart I know that it would be unlikely that God would ever ask me to, because my husband would definitely not be in agreement and the Bible commands women to honor their husbands.
I do believe that God does require Christians to give of themselves to their families and to the society they live in, and that most of us are so wrapped up in our daily lives and interests that we fail to do even that much for God.
I was not brought up in a Christian home, but feel that I would be lost trying to face the problems of this modern world if I didn't have the belief in God that I have today.

Yes, I believe in God, and my belief is unshakable. As far as going out and peaching is concerned, I am a housewife and not a preacher. I believe that relationship between a human being and God is personal. I do not see any need to go out and preach for God. I am a Hindu and my religion has not made it mandatory for me to preach. As a householder, my first and most important duty is to look after my family. I hope you understand what I am saying.

Believing in God, does not mean that one now becomes a fanatic, unreasonable, foolish, or reckless. The Bible plainly says, that if one doesn't work, he should not eat.
Yes, I would share my beliefs with others and I do as you can see. But I also work hard to earn my daily bread that God gives me.
