Nonsensical replies to posts / myLot

I've had a couple of responses in my discussions of late where the poster says that they have nothing to add or don't want to share their opinion, but reply anyway. Why do people bother? How do people feel about this?

Well, if it happens to you again, you can always rate them with a minus sign. If their rating keeps going down, they are bound to notice that they are doing something wrong, no? I agree that they are just trying to post to up their count. Silly things, they'll get theirs in the end.

They apparently are just wanting to earn a point. So, They can reach their goal whatever it maybe. For some it maybe 100 posts and others 500 posts.
