Fight with ur friend?

If someone make u really crazy, lets say your friend talked about u behind your back. he told your have a bad smell or what ever. (the point is he talked behind your back), you'll fight with him? you'll just talk with him and explain its not nice, or u gonna payback him and talk behind him back to? dont froget he is your friend. i would talk with him and threaten if he would talk behind my back agian i'll revenge (somthing like thet). what u should do?
