my christian faith is based on my bieliving that there a three gods in one, the father the son and the holy spirit. but my christianity also relies on the bible and the church's teachings.however i tend to push away the church's teachin and rely solely and my faith and the bible cz there are so many things i disagree with like homosexuality and divorce only to find out while i was readin the bible that jesus did ban the divorce and my friend told me today that it is written in the bible that homosexuality is not permitted. so wat am i to do am i still a christian cz i solely believe in the father the son and the holy spirit( i do still believe in some teaching of jesus in the bible)? plz someone help!!!! and could someone reffer to me the line in the bible where it's said that homosexuality is not permitted, or no such thing exists?

Some of the refernces you would like to know about can be found in the following chapters: Sodom & Gomorrah - (Jude 6-7, Genesis 18:16-33, Genesis 19:1-29, Ezekiel 16:48-50) The Levite, the harlot concubine and the Benjamite mob (Judges 19) The Romans (Romans 1:20-32) Remmeber all people sin. No matter if they are a beleiver in Chirst or not. Homosexuality is considered a sin in the eyes of God. So yes you can still be a Christian and be a homosexual. Please read these veres I have selected for you. I hope you can understand. But also remember our God is a forgiving God. He will forgive you of your sin. If you ask him.

And as you are reading the verses, take a look at the following website: www.gaychristiansurvivors.com to gain understanding on other interpretations of said verses. People are born gay. It is not a choice. It is God given.

the bible is a base to all important things. but you have to remember that the bible has been written a long time ago. there are alote of things there that do not fit the modren years. and it is possible to follow it blindly. so try to make the best of it. don't worry if you are a believer it will stay..remmeber it is all between you and god. and you do not really know who wrote the bible. there is a saying that part of it was given to us by moses and the other stories were written by human beings that wanted the people to stay toghether in their faith. i do not think you have to worry about it. just believe in god. and everything will be o.k.:)

Biblical scripture is a matter of interpretation, and personal belief. Because of the time in which it was written, it must be taken with a common sense approach. You also need to understand that a good portion of early Christian writings were destroyed because the anarchy of the church did not agree with the writings. I suggest you read the bible, cover to cover. Let the words sink in. THen you need to do some historical research regarding the times and the people for whom the book was written. THen you need to explore the many interpretations of the book. Or you can read the bible and let the words sink in. THen understand that the Bible is a guide to how we as human beings should strive to treat our fellow man and understand that as much as man wants to speak for God we cannot, and man wrote the words.

Hi, I am not sure what you mean; are you against homosexuality and divorce or think that they should be permitted, it doesn't seem clear from what you say? all the best urban

Well, we all sin, all fall short of God's laws; love the sinner hate the sin. How would you be living in sin, you say above you are not homosexual so are you living with a divorcee? God doesn't require us to be perfect just to recognise what we do and try not to transgress. all the best urban

you ask good powerful questions. Finding the answers is not easy, but it is very worthwhile. Here is what you need to do: 1. Pray!! all the time, both with words and with your heart. (to learn more please read my blog: www.lonnienord.blogspot.com ) 2. Read the Bilbe! Read it all!! Read it prayerfully!! Read it frequantly!! 3. Do what you did here: ask questions!!
