That after nutered stare

Growing up I had the oppurtunity to have 4 different male cats nutered. When they woke up after the procedure they would spend the next couple of day just staring at us with this look on their face that said "You cut off my balls?!!? What the hell did I ever do to you???"
Any of your cars do that to you as well? Our female cats never gave us a post fixing stare, just the males.

Hi there...I never really thought about this, but I somewhat recall both my cats last year having a glazed look about themselves afterwards. LOL I know part of it was the anaesthesia which can linger on for a day and the stress of being in a strange place adding to it as well.

That will account for a part of it...But 203 days later when it has obviously worn off...The stare is still there...

Hahahaha...I truly agree it still magically appears as fast as it disappeared!

Aww. My little guy is getting neutered next week. I hope he doesn't get mad at me for it.

Just pay attention and if he gives you that stare...scratch his ears or rub his belly. 8-)

Same situation, differnet animal. When we had our male guinea pig fixed he wouldn't come near me for days. I was the one that took him there and picked him up so I guess in his little mind he thought I was the one responsible. I do have to admit, it was funny when he started checking out the area. If he could talk, I'm sure he would have said, "Where the HELL are my balls?"

And don't forget the "What the hell did I ever do to you?" part as well. 8-)

Personally I don't think they are smart enough to figure this out and blame it on their owner... but you never know.

I think when you notice your balls are missing you can usually put 2 and 2 together. 8-)

My friend's cat Smokey actually ran away after they got him neutered. He showed up a few months later, having apparently been adopted by one of their neighbors because they thought he was stray, I guess. They let the neighbors keep him because he seemed so well-adjusted.

He probably got mad at them and left. Good that he found a home though.
