Finding a friend on your friend list - something I've noticed

Since I joined mylot, I've been lamenting the poorly organized friendlist and the great amount of time and effort one must expend trying to locate a friend to turn their notification on or off.
Well, yesterday, I noticed that all of the friends on the first page of my list have a posting score that begins with "9". For example, the first person has a score of 949, there are folks on that same page with scores of 9 and 93. Feeling that I might have spotted a trend, I quickly checked page one of my friends list. Just as I suspected, all the friends on this page have scores that start with the number "1".
So, my friends, if you are attempting to locate a friend on your list and you know their current posting score, simply use that score to locate them more quickly. I hope this helps some people out :)

Thanks for the tip blueskies. I didn't know in what kind of order my friends list was but you seem to make it look like a piece of cake now. However, when I want to go to the 'switch on' button to add a new friend, I still have to go through all the pages to look for the new friend. Any more tips on how to do this faster, particulary when my server gets slow, which is often the case.

No, there is no easy way to change the friend notification that I've found thus far. I'm hoping mylot will consider a "univeral switch" option that will allow us to turn our entire friend list on or off at one time. That would be a huge timesaver.

Mine does not appear to be so, mine tend to be alphabetical per page which is irritating at times. Would prefer a pure alphabetical listing of my friends. Again mine appear to be alphabetical per page! Not sure if it will be adjusted. There are a handful things that need fixed.

And here I thought I actually had a remarkable dicovery on my hands :) Thanks for clueing me in the alphabetic-by-page feature, I hadn't noticed that part yet.

wow blueskies, you are quite observant. No telling how long it would have taken me to figure that out! Unfortunately, I can't remember everyone's score! I so wish that the list was alphabetical, it would be so easy to find a friend if it were alphabetical! For instance, I wanted to message a friend today and I had to look through two pages before finding that friend, whereas had it been alphabetical I would have known pretty much where to go to find the friend! Perhaps myLot will read your thread and take our suggestions! Seems they've been making some great changes lately!

I don't get this?? I checked my friends' list and the numbers are all over the place -- there seems to be no real reason to it??? Maybe you can check out my friends page and tell me if you see a pattern that I am missing somehow.
That would be nice if there WAS a pattern, as I too have trouble finding people when I want to check their new reviews or to see if the notifier is on.

I had figured there was some sort of order but wasn't sure what it was. I didn't even think about the ratings points to check those to see if they went by order that way. Thanks, that makes it a bit easier. Still wish it was all alphabetical so that I could find them all really easy but can't have everything.

Yes, I looked now but it's kind of range like first page between 9 and 7, next page between 7 and 5, etc.
What I noticed earlier and would like you to confirm was that every page is sorted alphabetically on it's on, I didn't notice the first digit thing earlier but now it's a range of first digit sorted alphabetically ..
What I noticed and didn't make much sense (and still doesn't) is each page in my friends list starts with someone's ID that starts with an A (or B) and the rest of page is more or less sorted alphabetically..
I wish mylot gives a few options to sort them by name, by date added or manually butting our best friends at the top, that would be really great.

Hi, yes I agree completely with you it is very hard to find a particular friend on the friends list especially if you want to contact them quickly or they have sent you a message and you want to respond to them. On my friends list they are not listed like you are saying here I am sorry they are all scattered from 1 to 1000 so this does not help at all, but I do wish there was a quicker way to find them.

Wow! What an awesome observation, blueskies! I had been wondering for ages how to figure out how to find our 'new' friends on our list. It seems so disorganized! My only thought before now had been that maybe it was categorized by how long users had been on the site, but I had no proof of it and after awhile got to thinking that it probably wasn't the case. It was only a guess, in any case! *laugh*

Wow you've really looked into this, it's not something I even thought about! I just look for their avator ofcourse that gets difficult when they are changed and it really confuses me. But you raised a good point blueskies and I shall investigate further ha.

Yes, I've notice that one too. The friendlist should not be on the ratings the users obtained. It is discouraging on the other users. Alphabetically arranged friendlist is much better. It is easier to facilitate your friendlist if its alphabetical. I hope this suggestion will also be noticed by the people behind Mylot.

Ive only been at mylot for just over a week now so i still dont have a big friends list but im sure that i soon will.
