how do you keep a neighbor kid from coming over all the time?

We are having a problem with the nine year old neighbor kid,he comes over every day after he gets off the bus.We dont want to hurt his feelings but he gets on my daughters and my nerves.He stays late and she tells him she dont want to play but he doesnt listen,he just keeps coming back.I could use some advise on this.

Oh, I can relate, we had the same problem last year. The boy kept coming and coming. He would make up reasons, my mom forgot to leave me the key, there's no food in the house, I am hungry etc... I knew the boy was fibbing, he really is a super nice kid, I think he was just lonely, but enough already. I found that after saying no, and he kept coming, I very nicely told the mother, who is just so nice. She was shocked. It has since stopped.

We have tried talking to the mother and told her but it didnt do any good.Also my daughter told the boy she didnt feel like playing and he would go home tell his mom,and she would call over here and say, he is all upset because he cant play with my daughter.So she sends him right back over.What do i do next?
