You're never forced to respond. If you ever start feeling dizzy or your hands hurt then stare away from the computer screen for about 15 minutes to half an hour. Unfortunately I can't tell you any short cuts but once you start typing a lot you just get adjusted to it and you just type what you think without realizing that you're using your fingers.

I wish I knew the answer. I notice that some people can respond to or start 100's of discussions in one day, and they don't seem to have a problem. My back aches trying to post responses to about twenty discussions. Usually when this happens, I just lie back in my chair and play games on my pc, or watch a film. I suppose you fingers are just a bit stiff, if you are not used to typing. They will probably loosen up a bit after you reach your 2000 th topic. Ha, ha.
