I pray becaue I want to increase my love for God and to talk things over with Him. God is my Dad and I tell Him that i love Him and to ask His help in life. God has said that He loves me.

Prayer is different for everyone and a very personal thing. It's part of the entire world, even the non-religious people will often call upon an unseen force to help them or their family members when in desperate need.
For me, most prayer is a simple thank you to the creator and provider of our gifts of food, drink and other daily essentials and luxuries. I often pray if I would like to see something happen, but I do not just expect that it will happen as if by magic. What I am really praying for is guidance so that I can make that thing happen in the nicest way possible.
Hope this helps you. But I do understand why you asked these questions if you are having trouble understanding the faith of people.
Love and light.

I understand and agree with your thoughts.
Only reason behind asking this question was to know what people think.....

I would think the reason we pary is to try to stay closer to God but also because we are looking for some change in our lives and need to have hope that somehow there is a chance our lives can be changed for the better . Praying gives us the hope to hold onto when we have no one else to turn to .

I appreciate your thoughts......
Infact I belive,
"You Reap What You Sow"
God has made a just system, and we are doing our role-plays in this system....so complaining about anything may be unfair......!!
