I think it is important for mylot to appoint a moderator or identify someone who takes the role of a moderator amongst us so that better postings get a special mention as also encourages us all to improve upon the quality of the posting. What you do all have to say...

Mylot has an administrative account. The user 'Mylot' is the administrative representative. That's where abuse reports go, that's where questions are directed and that's who monitors complaints and deletes topics and responses that violate TOS. They have an established mod account. And as for better postings, there is a reason we have the Top Discussions page. Those are posts with the highest user ratings.

i think the role of the moderator is also to communicate with us as we are the audience. I would like the administrator to come forward, interact with us, send us emails of acknowledgement. Mention to us if there are spams running in the system. All this would work as a detterent and make discussions more effective.

You know those Alerts you get every week or so? The ones that explain new features, tell us how the site's coming along, warn us about glitches? That would be Mylot communicating with us and letting us know what's going on.

mylot should have a mod because it'll def. boost the quality in discussions. Mods can identify who is just spamming or who is breaking the guidelines. good job! mylot needs moderators
