Dump cake. 1 box of yellow cake mix, 1 can of crushed pineapple, drained, 1 can of fruit cocktail, drained (keep juice aside in case you need to add some to the cake). 1 cube of melted "butta" and chopped pecans. spread fruit at the bottom of a rectangle cake pan, spinkle dry cake mix over that, drizzle melted butta over cake (I try to make sure that most of the cake gets some moisture from the butter, that's were the juice comes in if you run out of butter. Spinkle chopped pecans on top and bake at 350 for about 20-25 minutes. Serve warm with some niller ice cream. Yummo!

The best cake is the one you are eating. Am a cake girl and normally prefer it white or yellow with buttercream icing. No need for flowers of icing. Those scenery things they do is ok by me. Serve it with ice cream and maybe some chocolate sauce. Then I am happy.
Tonight I am making a cherry pie. Go figure!

Hey I've just realised I've started a post with a question and I have not said what I think is the best cake, it is christmas cake with the marzipan and the icing with a dash of toffee sauce, not a lot but a little!
Did you enjoy your cherry pie? I hope it had icing sugar on, as this would have been a crime against cake enthusiasts.

Pie didn't happen, something came up. Marzipan has not been on my favorites list. Glad you enjoy it, I do like your new picture too.

I really miss my mom's spice cake. She used to make it every year for my birthday with this wonderful creamy white frosting. She passed away suddenly 13 years ago. I really wish I had gotten her recipe for it and so many other things. I have tried boxed spice cakes, but they aren't the same. I am not sure if it's because she added something extra or if it's just because she made it with love.

That's a shame you didn't get the recipe, because some of the past recipes are better than todays stuff, because today we have the notion that of just go to the shop and buy some cake, I'd love to start to bake cakes and buns but after what happened the last time I tried to do this... no way!

For me personally the best cake was my mom's honey cake made of many layers of dough with the folling of sweet sour cream!
It was delicious! I can make it myself, but I am always too lazy to do it.

Something called Rosie's cake. It's the consistency of carrot cake (yum!) but had pineaple in it as well as cream cheese frosting! Always a hit at birthdays, Christmas or any other day.
