Okay here is my plan.
With $20 a day, $140 a week, 20x365 days in a year = $7,300
Include into this all the bills you need to pay,
Mortgage, Insurances, Car Payments, School Payments, Food, Taxes
Say Safely $2,000 a month x 12 months = 24,000
So 24,000 + $7,300 = $31,300
Would it now be possible to live on $20 a day.
If you had around $35,000 a year do you make it? Do you think this plan would work?
I have started this $20 a day plan, and have found to have some left over money every day. Also have left over money after using the $2,000 I set aside monthly just for bills.

$20 dollars a day which equals $620 dollars a month doesnt even cover the cost of my house payment never mind my monthly bills! Or are you talking put aside 20 dollars a day ( 140 a week) to have "spending" money and see how much we can save?

$20 is spending money
Say you set aside $2,000 a month for bills (if that can cover)
I'm just into making every day not go into huge spending spree's if I can't afford it. So every day I take $20 of my little piggy bank ;) and try to plan from there.

For american its a tough battle to live 20$ a day. But if you earn 20$ a day and living in a poor country ( i dont want to spell names here ) it would be ok for basic necessities. If your living in usa its better to find a full time job and get a part time job like making money online.

I know the question is for Americans.
But if this situation brought to my country, Indonesia. It will be waaay more than enough. You can even live here oly $10 a day or less.
But if you interested in making less expenses, you can search for "debt diet" in http://www.oprah.com I think it's very useful.
