My husband got offered a contract to fix a network at a local store. He was told to contact the store back within the next few days with his pricing. He's unsure what is a reasonable charge for this work would be. He doesn't want to short-change himself, but also doesn't want to overprice himself out of the work. Any suggestions with pricing?

Hi ... you don't say what the work entails.... do they want him to install a complete wired network/a wireless network/combination of both or just some additional sockets or repair a current network??? In the UK we charge for a new wired network by the amount of sockets required(and a basic starter price)... so say a 20 socket network would be £60 for the base and £30 a socket...don't forget the £30 per socket would include as much cable as necessary... and labour. His best bet is to draw up a plan with the owner as to what he wants and where and then work out a price from that.

ask the local store what is the limit to charge first and if yo husband is certified technician he can get the big bucks so if they don't want to pay at least what u want come to a comprimise just street talk them into it thats all it takes. its like be an auctioneer or selling a car at a car lot to someone just jew them up to a comprimise.

Yes, he'd have to haggle price, but by him asking, that's already lowering the price they're willing to pay.
