Cable Modem versus DSL? Which is better?

With the advent of dsl and cable modem many consumers want to know which one is better. I for one would like to know which one is advisable.With DSL you have a more stable fast internet speed whereas cable modem although faster its connection speed vary.

You re right that cable speeds can vary. Cable is like a party line, everyone in your area is on the same line and share the speed. If to many get on at tone time your speed suffers. With DSL you have your own private access and the speed does not change. You can get DSL up to 6Mbps which is as fast or faster than cable. Cable is normally around 3Mbps. Myself I like DSL, I can install it myself instead of having the cable company come in and install service. Both DSL and Cable can be hacked so you will need a good firewall and virus program.

in israel the adsl is 3mbps and cables are 6mbs !!!
I swiched to adsl just because i got a free all in one modem-router-hub-usb_Network_Adapter also wireless device.
so i can connect up to 5 pc's and one wireless not having the need that any pc must be on in order to surf the net cause this one device dials for all pc's connected to it and gives them a network to communicate each other !!! cool :)
