What do I have to do to get some responses even though I post sensible stuff

I have seen a trend where people respond to some silly stuff with over 50 responses. I read advices about posting sensible things, Be as descriptive as possible etc. I stuck to those stuff but I get hardly any responses. Is it that you are responded only by ur friends and does mylot like only silly stuff and not serious discussions. Please advice.

first you make more friends from mylot!also refer your friends to mylot and play a teamwork game!also you can message mylot friend the link to your discussion.but topic should be interesting!i don't know much because i always respond to a discussion.i have started only few discussions!
