The most underrated musicians, past or present

Everyone knows of at least one or two bands/musicians who get overlooked by the media (and the world) and deserve a lot more recognition. The Ramones and Mary Timony are two examples of underrated musicians who deserve better. Who would you add to this list and why?

I would have to say Blyth Power. Of all the undeground folk/punk inspired bands of the late eighties in England this was the band that should have made it, that honour went to another band...The Levellers and the rest is history. Chek 'em out, they should have been massive.
