There are so many people who hate durian. Being a smelly food, they have judged it as something that doesn't taste good. WEll you don't know what you're missing! I have to admit Durian smells like hell. But if you tasted the fruit minus the smell you would say it taste like heaven. It's an expensive fruit that taste like vanilla milk. I like eating mine after i put it in the fridge. There are many varieties of durian. However, I only like 2 varieties: the native and the arancillo. Their seed meat taste like vanilla and milk!! no kidding. I like it served cold because it's really hot in your body. And it's known for it's high calories and is very well known as an aphrodisiac. Yup it could turn you on, but the smell will turn you off!

I actually never knew what durian was until I just read your post! It does sound really good the way you describe it though. It sounds like something that I would really like! I'm not sure where to find it around here, but I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for it so I can try it sometime! Thanks for the recommendation! :)

i believe the native durian is sometimes said to be with bitter taste but so creamy with much yellowish in color while arancillo are whiter & more bigger pulp to be so milky too! whatever type it is i do LOVE DURIAN . . . candies , ice cream , pie & frozen fresh fruit !
very high in calories & cholesterol 'coz i really feel dizzy after eating 2 whole fruits.

actually you got it wrong.. the native durian is actually of white color and usually creamy with a bittersweet taste but more or less sweet and taste like vanilla ice cream. that one variety you're referring to is the chani. it has yellow cob and usually has a bitter taste. Chani are usually cheaper than native durians.
