Does anyone how to get documentation showing present marital status?

HA!! I saw this as a link on the side not realizing it's a very old discussion.

For your country, no, I've no idea. In America we go down to the city hall and request a notarized copy, which we may have to pay a fee to get. Otherwise, it's that simple for the most part. Is there some type of court system there, or did you get one when you married originally? Also, you're not saying what your present marital status is. Maybe you're not married and I'm answering it all wrong. You'd have to find out what type of records are kept in India, and where and go from there.
