My husband and I went to Paris last July 2004, if you are a history freak then paris is for you, but if you are a theme park person like my husband, paris will be a bore. As for me I love history, i love walking in the louvre, fountainbleu, versailles and the stories that made those places. The Notre Dame was magnificent up front and during the Seine cruise. I did not enjoy french food like others did, but their was this one salad place near sacre couer that was really delicious, for that alone I would love to go back to paris

I've never been to Paris. I heard the place is beautiful, I also heard so many negative feedbacks about Paris. We all know French hate Americans. Me and my husband went to Metz for our anniversary, amazing city, but people weren't so friendly over there.

It's a wonderful place, but there are negative aspects as with everywhere.
I did find the people were MUCH more friendly towards us "american tourists" when we were in London than France. Also, Paris is pretty heavily polluted. Much more than I imagined. My allergies were BAD there.

I have a few vague memories of Paris, I was only there a few days. I was with my then boyfriend, and I remember standing in line to get tickets for the Eifel Tower ride, and we saw a couple ahead of us that happened to be from the very same town that we lived in in America. We tried to talk to them about this, but they completely ignored us. We thought that was strange. I remember my boyfriend chickened out riding up the Tower, as he was afraid of heights. I remember eating this sandwhich in this little cafe, oh my gosh it was so good...it had this cheese on it..I remember visiting an art museum, and it was closed the day we were there, and we were leaving the next day. So disappointed. I wish I could've stayed longer, and I'd like to go back again, and pay more attention to what was around me.

Is the museum you tried to visit the Louvre? It's wonderful there! Don't you just love how little memories come flooding back and you'll remember the strangest things, such as your sandwich from the little cafe? Those memories are somtimes the best.

I went alone for three days in Sept 2001. I went to the Louvre and although I'm not into Art at all, I certainly was after this trip. It was so beautiful I was moved to tears. I also went to cemetery Pere Lachaise where Jim Morrison is buried. There were some weirdo hanging around Jim Morrisons grave, including one guy who was putting his hari from his head into a jar by the grave, um ah okay, whatever.
